Frequently Asked Questions
To transfer your website to a new hosting provider, you must complete the following steps:
- Purchase a hosting plan
- Migrate your website (files and database) within the hosting plan
- Transfer your domain to the new provider
The website migration service is not linked to the domain transfer process.
To transfer a domain, you must have the following:
- Have the transfer code (auth code or EPP) to be entered during the order process.
- The domain must not be locked (status: locked).
- The domain must not be protected by Whois.
- The domain must not have expired.
If the domain is locked or protected by Whois, you must contact your provider and request the transfer code (if you do not have one). If the domain has expired, it cannot be transferred. You will need to renew it with your current provider, and then transfer it 60 days after the renewal.
From the moment the domain transfer is initiated, the Registrar may send a confirmation email, which must be confirmed to avoid blocking the process. Transfer times vary depending on the domain extension, but typically you need to wait 5 days from the start of the domain transfer process.
There will be no service interruptions because the domain transfer time allows you to migrate your website content to the new server.
Until the domain transfer is complete, the domain will point to the current server and not the new one.
You can perform the website migration yourself, or you can have it done by Xlogic starting at €25.
To allow us to properly migrate your website (files + database), you will need to open a support ticket and provide us with the following:
- Link and credentials for FTP access (site files and folders)
- Link and credentials for MySQL access (site database, if applicable)
Our technicians will transfer your website to the new hosting plan purchased from Xlogic; this way, as soon as the domain transfer process is complete, you will see your website up and running on the new hosting.
If your previous provider uses cPanel, in addition to the website, our technicians will also transfer your mailboxes and emails.
The website transfer service includes transferring your website content (files + database), and the price varies based on the size of the site being transferred.

The service does not include email transfer, so you will need to save a backup and recreate your email addresses from cPanel.
